Homeschool

I thought of all the dioramas or mobiles that have been done with the solar system before but thought that was just not going to happen lol of course, I went on the internet....Love me some BING! we found some chalk ideas on a black poster and a few other fun ideas but this one appealed to Sophia:
So this is the plan this week. I plan on tweaking it a bit so I can throw the solar system in a big ol bowl for fruit salad. waste not, want not, I always say:) happy learning and eating!

Homeschool

Isabella decided to go draw the planets in chalk on the sidewalk as we were learning about them...how creative is she?! So PROUD of her:)

Mommy Daughter Date

We had a great time!! We had fun shopping for material for a project for her bedroom, found her a pair of overalls that she has been begging for, and went out for a nice dinner with DESSERT FIRST! And yes, it was delicious-soft warm brownie bites dipped in some sweet somethingness!! And look, they painted with chocolate! I love it! PAINTING WITH CHOCOLATE :)

Mommy Tip

Mommy Tip: Spend quality time with your child

I know...I know we spend time with our children but I mean individually. I mean quality one-on-one time. It's important to spend quality time with your child so that you can nurture love, security and acceptance; to make that parent/child bond even stronger. No matter what is going on in your life, take a moment to spend a few moments, an afternoon or a dinner date with each individual child. Yes, I have 4 children! and I have tried to spend quality time with each and every child! It may not be every very often either but that's ok. As long as we make a point to spend some time together. Not every month and certainly not every week but I know they look forward to it more than chocolate. And if it involves chocolate...all the better! Today Isabella and I are going on a mommy/daughter date. Not sure where we're heading but I know that when we get there, there will be NO ONE vying for my attention but her. I will be the only person listening to her, conversing with her, and seeing her for the blessing she is... even if for just a few precious moments! :) Happy Saturday! :)

Food for Thought~

You know what I love about raising beautiful healthy children, them actually eating their veggies! So I cut carrots in these cute lil shapes so my youngest would try them. Guess what?? It Worked! It was a little more work than I thought it would be but she's totally worth it!

Family~

There are traditions that we start and traditions that we continue to do that are passed down from generation to generation...some traditions are destructive done out of habit and others foster creativity, security, or love. Occasionally, I start a new tradition with my family that is positive and brings us together as a family. When Kendall was young, I started one tradition of baking muffins on Saturday morning. It was our new blended family tradition, something that brought us together nearly every Saturday morning at the table enjoying and trying new muffins together. We named ourselves 'The Muffin Girls' and sang the this little song some mornings as we baked. Kendall loved it! Some mornings she and I would bring a muffin to Christopher to in bed and he would wake up t the smell of fresh baked muffins and have the biggest smile on his face. We all look back at this time with fond memories.

I continued a fond memory with my girls that I did with my son. I wanted to make sure my children not only knew that I loved them, but that they heard it everyday! I would tell my son that I loved him and if he said 'I love you too.' I would tell him that I loved him 3, he would say 4 and I would say 'MORE'. Whoever got 'MORE' would win. We did it for years! Today, I tell my girls I love them 'MOST'. Whoever reaches 'MOST', wins. I just adore their little faces when I tell them I love them most and they grin from ear to ear. You can almost see their little hearts overflowing with love. That's the kind of traditions I want to pass on. The kind I want them to pass on to their children someday. The kind that makes them feel loved and secure. I hope you start a new tradition today, one that brings your family closer and makes your family members know, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are loved....the MOST!
